European Business Awards for the Environment
Mandated by FEDIL, +ImpaKT has provided its expertise to the jury of the 2018 edition of the European Business Awards for the Environment.
The task consisted in evaluating more than 50 entries in the category Products and Services and participating in the jury meeting, which was held in Sofia end of June 2018. Following the decisions of the jury, the shortlist of the 22 best companies from 9 countries for all the categories was published, as well as the candidates for the “rising star” category. The winners will be announced at a ceremony hosted by the European Commission and the Austrian Ministry for Sustainability in Vienna on 14 November 2018.
Many companies submitted entries with products and services, processes or management concepts directly inspired by Circular Economy principles, nicely illustrating how circular business models are closely linked to ecoinnovation and environmental protection, while boosting resilience and competitiveness of the company.
Two out of the three winners of last year’s national business award for the environment (Prix de l’Environnement de la Fedil), Peintures Robin and Sales-Lentz also took part in the European competition, but did not make it to the shortlist, unfortunately. Both DG Environment and the jury acknowledged, however, the strong Luxembourg presence, as compared to the size of the country.
