Fifty years of Antiques & Art Fair : rarities, expertise, and sustainability

The milestone 50th edition of Antiques & Art Fair, taking place from January 29 to February 2, 2025, at Luxexpo The Box, celebrates five decades of history and excellence.

This unmissable event brings together nearly 90 exhibitors from across Europe to showcase an exclusive selection of artworks and antiques in an inspiring atmosphere. More than just an exhibition, the fair is a cultural meeting point where seasoned collectors, art enthusiasts, and visitors can admire rare and unique pieces, exchange experiences, and make exciting new discoveries. A memorable and enriching experience is guaranteed.

A dedicated team of experts ensures success

Behind the event’s organization is a team of seasoned professionals pivotal to the fair’s success. Lorraine Leg, a former art restorer and now Product Manager at Luxexpo The Box, combines technical expertise with strategic vision. Her artistic background enables her to blend technical knowledge with project management, ensuring a creative yet rigorous approach. Working alongside her, Cassandre Drost, Key Sector Manager at Luxexpo The Box, coordinates exhibitor and partner relations, building a strong network and enhancing the fair’s visibility

Jean-Pierre Defossé, the fair’s curator, oversees the selection of exhibitors and the quality of the showcased pieces. His acknowledged expertise and discerning eye ensure the artworks meet the fair’s high standards.

A team of renowned experts, including Patricia De Zwaed (modern art), Rudi Heselmans (old paintings), and Serge List (jewelry and watches), will guide visitors and guarantee the authenticity and quality of the exhibits.

An exceptional selection of galleries and antiques

The fair features an impressive lineup of exhibitors from France, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy, and other countries.

Among the highlights is the Galerie Manuscripta (France), led by Cyril Gaillard, which will showcase a 1955 original drawing by Yves Saint Laurent. This rare piece reflects the designer’s affinity for the fine arts, haute couture, and ballet.

« At this fair, I favor modern graphic works that appeal to both art lovers and seasoned collectors. The fair attracts a diverse audience with budgets ranging from 500 to 40.000 euros, and an average spend of around 2.000 euros. It caters to both enthusiasts and collectors seeking rare, high-quality items at competitive prices. »

The Galerie Delobelle & Delobelle (Belgium) invites visitors into the elegant world of antique English furniture. Sophisticated desks, secretaries, and bookcases each tell a unique story, reflecting an era where craftsmanship and aesthetics were perfectly intertwined.

« What makes this fair so special is the diversity and quality of the visitors. They are not only interested in the object itself but also in its history, restoration, and provenance. It is a true pleasure to share our passion with such a curious and well-informed audience. This is an event of exceptional quality, both in terms of logistics and the variety of exhibited works. Every effort is made to facilitate the exhibitors’ work, and this is reflected in the experience offered to visitors. »

Another highlight is the Lux-Auction auction house (Luxembourg), which is presenting two iconic seating pieces by Pierre Jeanneret (Le Corbusier), symbols of 1950s design. For Adrien Denoyelle, director, auctioneer, and certified appraiser by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Antiques & Art Fair Luxembourg provides an opportunity to deepen relationships with collectors.

« This fair is a unique platform to meet a diverse audience, whether they are collectors seeking exceptional works, families needing expertise for an inheritance, or individuals looking to enhance their private collections. Every year, we showcase new works that we carefully select for the fair,” he explains. »
