Boydens Engineering in the spotlight on Batibouw 2019
Boydens Engineering actively participated on the opening of Batibouw 2019.
In the afternoon Wim Boydens, CSTO Boydens Engineering, engaged in a debate on the ecological impact of the building sector with Leo Van Broeck, Flemish Government Architect and Marc Dillen, director-general of the Flemish Building Confederation.
Later that day the Belgian Building Awards were announced. The renovation and extension of the COOP-building in Ghent by Dial Architects, and where Boydens Engineering designed the technical installations, won first prize in the category ’New Way of Working’. A new category that awards projects that give an original interpretation to an office environment.
The jury consisted of 9 architects, journalists and publicists : Rita Agneessens (Linklab), Laure Bertrand (LRarchitectes), Eric Cloes (I’m going to build), Marc Dubois (architecture critic), Lionel Lhoir (Focus Archi), Rik Neven (architectura.be), Philippe Selke (architectura.be), Arnaud Tandt (NAV and Febelcem) and Marnik Dehaen (acting jury member on behalf of the Order of Architects).
And that’s not all ! Friday February 22, Boydens Engineering will sign the Green Deal Circular Building. Through this joint commitment, construction companies, building material manufacturers, local and regional authorities, private developers, researchers and other organizations will work together to make circular building into everyday reality in the future.
